Meraki Things are cloud-managed IOT sensors. They are managed like any other Meraki device through the simplicity of the Meraki Dashboard.
The new Meraki product lineup includes the following sensors

Here are some unboxing photos of all three sensors.

Quick Specs
- The sensors are powered by standard AA batteries
- They are rated to run 3-5 years before needing to change the batteries
- They communicate using BLE 4.2 and need to use a Meraki MV Camera or Meraki Wifi6 MR Access point as a gateway to the Meraki Dashboard
- They require a license (hardware support, software support)

Alerting
You can setup Alert profiles to send email and SMS alerts. The email alerts will also use your default recipients configured in your network-wide alert settings. This can be network admins, organization admins, or even a webhook receiver.
From my testing, the alerts come through on my phone from 2-7 seconds after the alert is triggered.
Finally here are a couple of install pictures of my MT12 Water Leak Sensors and a MT20 Contact Sensor.

Summary
These sensors were super easy to setup. Once they get connected to a gateway they grab their configuration, updated firmware, and show up in dashboard in under 20 minutes. The extra visibility I get is awesome and what is better is that I can access that information from anywhere I can get access to the Internet.
